On Saturday, September 29, at 7 p.m., friends of Rosalie Bertell will gather at Bloor Street United Church, 300 Bloor Street West, Toronto, Ontario, to remember one of the most influential people of our time.
Rosalie was a Grey Nun of the Sacred Heart, a scientist, author, global citizen and inspiration to all who work for a healthy environment. She connected the links from uranium mining, nuclear power, nuclear weapons and nuclear waste to the damage to human health now and in coming generations.
She defied entrenched interests to oppose the harm to health whether in the Marshall Islands, Bhopal, Chernobyl, Fukushima or all who live near a nuclear reactor. A constant theme of her books and presentations was the harm of radioactive contamination and the silencing of opposition.
Please come and share your stories and concerns. It is vital that her work with the International Institute of Concern for Public Health be carried on.
Sponsored by IICPH. All welcome. No charge but receipted donation encouraged.
